social media equipment must haves

In the digital age, where connectivity is key and online presence is paramount, having the right social media equipment can make all the difference in creating compelling content that resonates with your audience. Here our five top 5 social media equipment must haves!

1) A good tripod

Choosing the right tripod for your phone is absolutely crucial, and I've learned this firsthand through various experiences. From filming in bustling concert arenas where vibrations can easily disrupt lesser tripods to navigating through a sea of flimsy, cheap options, I've finally found my go-to choice. This heavy-duty tripod not only withstands the energy of live events but also offers incredible versatility with its 6-foot height extension, pivoting capabilities for diverse filming angles, and multiple attachable pieces that enhance its functionality. It's truly a game-changer for anyone serious about creating top-notch social media content. Check out the tripod here.

2) Lapel Microphones

Investing in high-quality sound equipment can make all the difference. It can not only isolate noise distractions but also deliver clear and distinct sound, making captioning videos easier and enhancing the quality of voiceovers. We use the Hollyland Lark M1’s, ours are pink but they come in black as well and have noise cancellation and up to 8 hours of battery life. These microphones are a versatile and reliable tool for any content creator's toolkit.

3) Stabilizer

A stabilizer plays a crucial role in refining the quality of your content, I am not telling you to get one of the crazy expensive ones! You film content on a regular basis so I know you know how to hold a phone study but believe me when I tell you something as simple as this $25 one from Amazon makes all the difference. This stabilizer seamlessly integrates with your tripod, eliminating the need to repeatedly attach and detach your phone. It also features designated sections for attaching a microphone, light, and other accessories, enhancing the overall professionalism and smoothness of your filming experience.

4) Portable Charger

Managing your phone's battery is crucial when it comes to social media marketing. Regardless of how advanced your phone's battery life may be, factors like extensive video recording, temperature variations (whether cold or hot), can drain it quickly. The last thing you want is for your phone to die on set or during a shoot, halting your progress entirely. That's why investing in a reliable portable charger is paramount; one that offers long-lasting performance, fast charging capabilities, and multiple recharges. In my experience, this particular portable charger stands out as the best option to date.

5) A phone & laptop with storage

Let me emphasize this point sincerely: I cannot stress this enough. When I began years ago, I opted for a laptop with less storage to save money. Trust me, within a year, that decision started to backfire significantly. The constant struggle of transferring files to different locations and sometimes not having enough space for specific projects was a real challenge. If I could offer one solid piece of advice to anyone starting out, it's this: ensure you set yourself up for success by investing in a reliable phone and laptop setup from the beginning.

6) A good camera

While not a necessity for everyone, having a good DSLR camera has truly elevated our content and proved invaluable for every brand we've collaborated with. It doesn't have to break the bank, as you can often find gently used options at a significantly lower price. Owning a DSLR camera provides the flexibility to capture higher-quality product photos, diverse video content, and opens the doors to numerous other content opportunities. We use the Canon Rebel T6i with a basic lens for a lot of our DSLR content capture.
